Clinic Share New Single “Energies”

Liverpool, UK band “Clinic” have been around for over 30 years now, and though that is a long time, the band have not lost their spark. I have fond memories of seeing the music video for “Walking With Thee” over and over on “MTV 2,” and their album of the same name is one of my all time favorites. Drawing heavy inspiration from the band “The Residents,” “Clinic” offer a prominent visual aesthetic to complement their music, usually wearing surgical masks and celebrating psychedelia. Led by founding members Ade Blackburn and Jonathan Hartley, the band are set to release their tenth album Wild In The Streets on October 30th via longtime label “Domino,” and today the band have shared a new track off the upcoming album titled “Energies.” About the track, Ade Blackburn says, “Energies has a late night party feel, a fun-filled combination of Funkadelic, Carl Douglas and Cabaret Voltaire.” You can listen to “Energies,” as well as pre-order Wild In The Streets below:

Protomartyr Share New Single “Exalted Eagles”

Protomartyr’s new album Hotel Usona drops this Friday, and though many of us are impatiently waiting to hear this new album from one of the greatest bands of the last 15 years, the band have shared another taster for us while we wait. The track is titled “Exalted Eagles,” and it’s “a hard look at a nation in free fall, gripped by fascism,” according to lead singer Joe Casey. You can listen to “Exalted Eagles” below:

Protomartyr Share New Single “Feed the Sewer”

Detroit band “Protomartyr” are set to release their seventh album Hotel Usona on September 25th via longtime label “Domino,” and today the band have shared another new track off the album titled “Feed the Sewer,” and it’s a relentless takedown of AI. About the single, lead singer Joe Casey comments “The title comes from a line of dialogue in a Peter Greenaway movie. The sentiment of the song is that artificial intelligence is against humanity. The belief is that people are often willing to destroy the world in exchange for convenience. The lyrics are the usual mish-mash of political fears, personal grievances, literary references, and poop jokes. The music is very loud, like a data center.” The single also has an accompanying music video that features comedian Nate Varrone, who also appeared in the music video for the band’s previous single “Sounds We Cannot Hear.” About the video, director Andrew Theodore Balasia says, “Loneliness in the age of surveillance is the theme we explored for this video. The motel becomes a physical microcosm of data collection, each room a profile, each guest willingly paying to stay in a room that is being monitored by strangers. Protomartyr Announce New Album “Hotel Usona,” Share New Single “Sounds We Cannot Hear”

The four-piece Detroit band “Protomartyr” have returned with a new single titled “Sounds We Cannot Hear,” as well as the announcement of their seventh album Hotel Usona, which will drop September 25th via longtime label “Domino.” According to the band, the album “is an effort that finds the Detroit post-punk outfit reckoning with the horrors of our current moment. It is not easy listening. It’s essential.” Lead singer Joe Casey has imagined his country as an aging hotel here, each song a room haunted by its own troublesome guest. It’s a “hard look at a nation in free fall, gripped by fascism.”

Sorry Share New Single “More,” Unveil Release Date for New Album “925”

After much anticipation and patience patience patience, we now have a release date to look forward to for “Sorry’s” upcoming debut album 925. The album will be released on March 27th via “Domino Records.” Today the band have shared a new single titled “More,” and just like their previous singles it’s a catchy tune that finds the band refusing to compromise their lyrically honest and inward looking sound that frequently genre bends. Sorry Share New Song “Right Round the Clock,” Announce New Album “925”

The wait will end next Spring. In Spring 2020 we’ll finally get a full-length album from U.K. band “Sorry,” a band that have been making waves in the music world for the past few years with their sharp Rock? Pop? Post-Punk? Honestly they’re their own genre, and many have been itching for a full-length album, well… today we’ve been blessed with great news. The band will release their debut album 925 in Spring 2020. Today the band released the album’s lead single “Right Round the Clock,” and it’s a fun track with an interpolation of a song that will be recognizable for “Tears for Fears” fans. Sorry Release New Song “Jealous Guy”

U.K. band “Sorry” continue their string of impressive singles with a new track titled “Jealous Guy.” The track is a response to John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy” and the possessiveness of the song, and it is a dark and catchy number with a goofy music video to accompany it that finds the band having a lot of fun. Clinic Announce New Album “Wheeltappers and Shunters”

It’s been awhile since “Clinic” have blessed us with their oddball Psychedelia. Following their 2012 album Free Reign, the band will finally return with a new album titled Wheeltappers and Shunters on May 10th. The band have also released a new single titled “Rubber Bullets,” and it’s “Clinic” 101. You can watch the music video below:
