One of my most anticipated releases of 2027 is Lambrini Girls’ upcoming sophomore album No Refunds. Scheduled for release on January 15th, it feels like a long way to go before we get to hear this album, but then I realize that holy shit this year is almost over! What a terrifying year it has been in the world of politics, society, and culture, and though saying things like “we’re living in scary times” may sound like an exhausting cliché, I don’t think there’s a truer statement. If you’re someone who doesn’t recognize or think about all the fucked up shit going on in the world, then congratulations, you’re one of the privileged people those of us less fortunate talk about, and if you’re the type to ignorantly bury your head in the sand, the time will come when you’ll have to atone for your complicity, minor or major. One of the oldest prejudices that continues to run rampant is misogyny, so it’s no surprise that a band like Lambrini Girls exists. Along with their musical and songwriting talent, the Brighton, UK-based duo are proving that they are on the right side of history by calling out all of the injustices in the world, and that’s the true definition of “Punk”. On their new single “The Basement,” the band confronts misogyny using the character of “a sad little man who gets radicalized by the manosphere.” The track is confrontational, comedic, and quite danceable. The band have also released the track “Spilt”, which is a personal acoustic ballad about alcohol dependency. It’s looking like this album might be one of the best releases of 2027, and I can’t wait to hear it. You can listen to “The Basement” and “Spilt”, as well as pre-order No Refunds below:
