Tropical Fuck Storm Share New Single “Legal Ghost”

It’s clear that “Tropical Fuck Storm” isn’t just a one-off project. The band haven’t slowed down since the release of their debut album A Laughing Death In Meatspace back in 2018. Releasing a follow-up titled Braindrops the following year, and now gearing to release their third album later this year, these oddballs are here to stay for awhile. Yesterday the band released their new single “Legal Ghost,” a chilling tune that will appear on their upcoming album along with their previously released single “Suburbiopia.” “Legal Ghost” was originally a cut from member Gareth Liddiard’s “Bong Odyssey” project. About the decision to rework this cut from 1998, Liddiard has stated “It felt like something we could do, and I mean, no one ever heard it. It’s not like we were revisiting “Stairway to Heaven” or something like that. TFS has always come back around to that “Bong Odyssey” thing. If you’ve heard the “Bong Odyssey” stuff, it’s pretty out there, it’s more out there than “The Drones.” So we’re back to being that weird again.” The track will officially be released on September 11th via “Flightless Records,” and will also feature a b-side which is a cover of “Talking Heads'” “Heaven.” You can listen to “Legal Ghost” below:

King Krule Shares New Music Video for “Comet Face”

Apparently it’s “Horror” day, and hey, this “Horror” nerd ain’t complaining. On the same day as the 40th Anniversary of Lucio Fulci’s classic film City of the Living Dead, King Krule has shared a new music video for his song “Comet Face” which is heavily inspired by Horror, more specifically, zombie films. “Comet Face” is taken from his recent album Man Alive! which is by far his finest work. Courtney Jacobs Shares New Single “Heat Dream”

Following her lush debut single “Canary,” singer-songwriter Courtney Jacobs has released an even more irresistible track titled “Heat Dream,” and it’s another smooth Summer jam with infectiously dreamy vocals and production that takes an unexpected turn incorporating heavy synths and a Hip Hop styled beat that’s sure to make you move. About the track, Jacobs has stated “The song is a descent into a hazy dream of falling into a lover’s arms after being separated. Normal Average People Share New Single “Lemo // Memo”

South East London duo “Normal Average People” have released their second single “Lemo // Memo.” This follows their debut “Baggy Ankles.” Proving the band have immense versatility, “Lemo // Memo” is more melodic than its raucously confrontational predecessor, and features a hint of 60’s Psychedelia all while maintaining their Alternative/Post-Punk style. “Lemo // Memo” will appear on the band’s upcoming E.P. The Moon Salon which will be released on August 26th via “Blitzcat Records.” The E.P. is named after the rehearsal space of the bar members Sam and Emil used to work at where they would sneak back in after the bar would close and bring out amps they had hidden during the week. Hammare Share New Single “Here Comes Trouble”

Following the release of their fantastic single “God Is Doing blow” back in 2018, Swedish duo “Hammare” have been hard at work releasing a single a year, and though that may seem like very little in this fast-paced streaming age of music we now live in, just remember, quality music takes time to create and has more longevity than mediocre songs that are pumped out just for the sake of staying relevant. This year we have been blessed with not one but two new “Hammare” songs. “In Back of the Real” was the first, and now the band have released the follow-up titled “Here Comes Trouble,” and as you’ve probably already guessed by the song titles, the band aren’t here to play it safe. At this point we know the band aren’t going to sugarcoat things. Their lyrical content reflects on the human condition and the ridiculous things that divide us when we should be more empathetic and accepting of each other. The band’s view on this can be from a dark and cynical lens, but instead of sounding defeated, they’re saying “We can do better.” “Here Comes Trouble” maintains that same tone, but this is the band’s most danceable track yet with Industrial-laden production consisting of discombobulating synth arpeggios, a funky as Hell bassline, and Desert Rock guitars that wouldn’t sound out of place on a “Queens of the Stone Age” record. Cenza Shares New Song “Thriving”

If her previous single “City Lights” didn’t win you over, then her brand new single “Thriving” surely will. Departing almost entirely from the “Electro-Pop” glamour of “City Lights,” Cenza’s new single “Thriving” is more melancholy on the surface, but never loses its smooth groove brought on by production consisting of electronic soundscapes, strings, bass, infectious synth melodies, and a beat that evokes the spirit of 90’s “Trip Hop.” Despite its moodiness, the track has an inspirational message. About the track, Cenza states “I didn’t write this about a guy. I wrote it about the feeling I often get second guessing myself for making a choice and owning it and about the desire to be unafraid of being perceived as intimidating just because i’m succeeding in something. I hope this song empowers everyone who hears it to own their choices and to stop feeling like they have to dumb themselves down or make themselves smaller to make others more comfortable, and to have fun with it.” “Thriving” was produced by Jay-Elle, Michael Abiuso, and Cenza, and was mastered by J.D. Billie Eilish Shares New Song “My Future”

It really has been hard to view the future in a positive light during these COVID times. It’s easy to succumb to a defeatist attitude and expect the absolute worst, but none of us know what the future holds. What if it’s not as bad as we think? As naive as it may be to think the future is bright during these times, what if that’s the hope we truly need at the moment? Billie Eilish hasn’t given up hope, and in these times of dominant negativity, it’s refreshing to see an artist with the platform of hers to shed light on optimism. Today Billie Eilish released a new single we all need to hear. Titled “My Future,” the track is a love letter to self. A self-love anthem that encourages us all to find our value, and it was released just in time for her brother/collaborator Finneas’ birthday. They’re a great team, and it’s great to see that this pandemic isn’t stopping them from producing quality music. You can watch the music video for “My Future” below:

 

U.S. Girls Share New Music Video for “IOU”

U.S. Girls most definitely released one of the year’s best albums back in March, which feels like ages ago considering all that has happened following the release of Heavy Light. Like so many others, the band were set to embark on a lengthy tour but were forced to cancel due to our current pandemic, but at least we have their incredible music to listen to during these moments of isolation. I know i’ve listened to Heavy Light countless times while being locked in my home. Today the band have shared a new music video for one of the album’s standout tracks titled “IOU,” and it is sure to put a smile on your face as you watch numerous clips of the band in the studio. Marilyn Manson Announces New Album “We Are Chaos,” Shares Title Track

Marilyn Manson has announced that he will release his 11th studio album We Are Chaos on September 11th via “Loma Vista Recordings.” The album is produced by Shooter Jennings, and features Juan Alderete on bass and Brandon Pertzborn on drums. Manson has also shared the title track, and it’s not what you’d expect given a name like “We Are Chaos.” It’s an acoustic guitar-driven ballad that wouldn’t sound out of place on an album like Mechanical Animals. Will the rest of the album feature the same gloomy balladry, or will he return to the overly-nostalgic “I’m still a villain” sound that littered his previous album Heaven Upside Down? Poppy Announces Expanded Album “I Disagree (more)”
