It feels like this is the ideal time for a new “Deli Girls” album, but then again, I don’t think there’s ever a time when a “Deli Girls” album isn’t appropriate. The anger and frustration that is a reaction to the homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, and other forms of hate that unfortunately plague this country is completely warranted and will continue until things become fair in this country, if that ever happens. The Brooklyn duo wear this anger on their sleeves and use it to fight hate with abrasiveness and aggression. This isn’t your Hot Topic “it’s not a phase mom” teen rebellion oh no, this is revolutionary music in its purest form. Music that challenges you, confronts you, and antagonizes you, but with that being said, “Deli Girls'” new album BOSS is never overly political or bias. This music is a place where many of us who have felt misfitted or wrongfully judged can call home. The band could have gone in a direction that recycles their earlier work, becoming a predictable gimmick of themselves, but on BOSS it’s evident that the two have the musical vision and knowledge to match their unadulterated rage. Those who have said the band is one-dimensional will quickly eat their words when listening to this album, because along with the band’s simplistic yet impactful instrumentation that draws influence from Industrial, video game inspired synth-lines, and heavy distorted bass that will knock the framed pictures off your wall, the band explore new territory, incorporating even darker atmospherics and even featuring beautifully haunting harp and violin provided by duo “LEYA” on the track “Barriers to Love.” There’s even a cover of “Korn’s” song “Faget” which the band beautifully reinvents and turns into a new anthem. The band really outdid themselves with this one.

Today “U.S. Girls” have shared a new music video for their track “And Yet It Moves / Y Se Mueve,” which is one of the most undeniably infectious tracks off their new album Heavy Light. Blue Hawaii Share New Song “Feelin'”

Electronic duo “Blue Hawaii” are set to release their new E.P. Under 1 House on September 25th, and following their dance floor ready single “I Felt Love,” the band have shared another track off the upcoming E.P. titled “Feelin'” and it’s just as danceable, sexy, and “House” dominated as its predecessor. S. Reidy Shares New Single “Flowers”

At this point it’s clear that S. Reidy doesn’t know how to stop making music, and that’s a good thing because you can always expect quality songwriting from the rapper/producer on every release. Deftones Announce New Album “Ohms,” Share Title Track

After some cryptic teasers online, “Deftones” have officially unveiled the details of their upcoming album Ohms. The album will be released on September 25th via “Reprise Records,” and was produced by Terry Date, who has produced some of the band’s most iconic albums. Today the band have shared the album’s title track as well as a music video to accompany it. You can watch the music video for “Ohms” below:

METZ Share New Song “Hail Taxi”

“METZ” are set to release their upcoming fourth album Atlas Vending on October 9th via “Sub Pop Records,” and today the band have shared the album’s second single “Hail Taxi,” which features that sludgy grunginess we’ve come to expect from the band, but also features the more melodic side of them that was revealed on their previous single “A Boat to Drown In.” About the track, the band have stated “It’s about looking back, coming to terms with who you were and who you’ve become.” The band have also shared a beautifully directed music video by A.F. E.P. Review: Artxdekko – Things I Can’t Control

There’s just something about pure unadulterated rage in music that either turns you off, or completely enthralls you. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure, you definitely feel it whether you hate it or love it. Los Angeles based artist “Artxdekko” delves deep into the uncompromising feeling of directed rage on his self-produced debut E.P. Things I Can’t Control. Drawing clear influences from ’90s “Alt Rock,” and at times sounding like a dead ringer for “Nine Inch Nails” or “Filter,” “Artxdekko” wears his influences on his sleeve, but never strays into imitation. Instead, he expands and opens up new possibilities for a recognizable sound that unfortunately feels forgotten in contemporary music. Being four tracks in length, this E.P. gets its point across with solid and straight-forward songwriting that combines a fast-paced “Punk Rock” edge with an affinity for blatant aggression. Are these songs about someone in particular, or are they about that general feeling we all feel from time to time when someone wrongs us? With very little background provided with these songs, that mystery seems intentional. Just let the music take you to an emotion you most likely try to repress. Anger is part of being human, and what better way to channel it in a non-violent way than through music? This E.P. will make you feel that rage even if you’re in the happiest of moods.

Alexis Marshall Shares New Single “Nature in Three Movements”

Alexis Marshall of the band “Daughters” has shared his debut single “Nature in Three Movements,” an intensity-building and anxiety-inducing monster of a track similar to his band “Daughters'” latest album You Won’t Get What You Want. Though this appears to be a one-off single, Marshall is shooting to release his debut solo album early next year. Marshall has described “Nature in Three Movements” as “the painstaking process of creating and honoring, pretending to know and asking for aide, questioning and conquering, and the pale, unending anxiety nipping at the heel.” The track was recorded with Jon Syverson of “Daughters,” and Evan Patterson (Jaye Jayle, Young Widows). Tropical Fuck Storm Share New Single “Legal Ghost”

It’s clear that “Tropical Fuck Storm” isn’t just a one-off project. The band haven’t slowed down since the release of their debut album A Laughing Death In Meatspace back in 2018. Releasing a follow-up titled Braindrops the following year, and now gearing to release their third album later this year, these oddballs are here to stay for awhile. Yesterday the band released their new single “Legal Ghost,” a chilling tune that will appear on their upcoming album along with their previously released single “Suburbiopia.” “Legal Ghost” was originally a cut from member Gareth Liddiard’s “Bong Odyssey” project. About the decision to rework this cut from 1998, Liddiard has stated “It felt like something we could do, and I mean, no one ever heard it. It’s not like we were revisiting “Stairway to Heaven” or something like that. TFS has always come back around to that “Bong Odyssey” thing. If you’ve heard the “Bong Odyssey” stuff, it’s pretty out there, it’s more out there than “The Drones.” So we’re back to being that weird again.” The track will officially be released on September 11th via “Flightless Records,” and will also feature a b-side which is a cover of “Talking Heads'” “Heaven.” You can listen to “Legal Ghost” below:

King Krule Shares New Music Video for “Comet Face”

Apparently it’s “Horror” day, and hey, this “Horror” nerd ain’t complaining. On the same day as the 40th Anniversary of Lucio Fulci’s classic film City of the Living Dead, King Krule has shared a new music video for his song “Comet Face” which is heavily inspired by Horror, more specifically, zombie films. “Comet Face” is taken from his recent album Man Alive! which is by far his finest work.
