It’s been four years since the release of Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul’s debut album Topical Dancer, an album that offered playful and sardonic social critiques over the most infectious dance grooves you’ve ever heard, and given the fact that there’s even more social themes to comment on in the year 2026, it’s hard not to miss the duo and their unique style of commenting on such things. However, there is a reason for Adigéry’s absence, and that reason is motherhood. Raising a child can be exhausting and it can be a challenge finding the time to make music or to be creative, and that just so happens to be the theme of the duo’s comeback single “Googoo Gaga.” Feeding and carrying, crying and sleeping, mess and repetition, guilt and uncertainty, these are all things that are playfully tackled on the track, and the track is a banger.
