BROCKHAMPTON Announce Release Date for Upcoming Album “Iridescence”

The wait is finally over. After several album name changes and much speculation as to when their new album Iridescence would get a release date, BROCKHAMPTON have announced that they will release the album on September 21st, and that’s just around the corner. This follows last year’s impressive SATURATION trilogy, and this is the group’s first album without Ameer Vann who was kicked out recently due to sexual misconduct allegations. The tracklist has also been revealed and it looks like the album will not feature their recent singles “1999 WILDFIRE,” “1998 TRUMAN,” and “1997 DIANA.” According to the band, Iridescence will be the first installment of another trilogy titled The Best Years of Our Lives. The group recorded the album at the legendary “Abbey Road Studios,” and it will be their first release on the label “RCA Records.” You can check out the tracklist below:

We’re all aware of the fact that the majority of “Industrial” music is utterly abrasive. Whether it be the chaotic discombobulating harsh noise of “Industrial” pioneers, or the modern “EBM” genre “Industrial” has evolved into with it’s focus on the more tumultuous side of “Electronic” music, it all happily dives into the rabbit hole of nihilism. That’s a good thing when it comes to the genre, but what we don’t get enough of is the representation of how the genre can be catchy, and dare I say…… Poppy? Hayward, CA based duo “Chelsey and the Noise” fearlessly spotlights the catchier side of the genre on their new E.P. Blank Frames. Members Chelsey Hice and Brent “the Noise” Watters create instrumentation that is dark and synth-driven with pulsating percussion and even “Metal” influenced guitars like on the track “Castle.” As chaotic as the instrumentation can get, it never strays away from it’s danceable quality. Singer Chelsey Hice replaces the distorted howls and growls the genre is typically known for with melodic vocals that are sexy, seductive, and vulnerable, showcasing her versatility and myriad of emotions. The final moments of the track “Thick / Clear” delves into gloomy atmospherics with gorgeous piano arpeggios, and this is proof of the duos brilliant craftsmanship that keeps their sound from being one-dimensional. Being only four tracks in length, this E.P. packs quite the punch, and it is sure to get rivetheads on the dance-floor, but simply labeling the duo “Industrial” doesn’t do their music justice, because it is evident that their musical possibilities are endless. This is music that demands your attention, and it can even win over people that typically don’t listen to this kind of music, because the infectious grooves are undeniable. “Chelsey and the Noise” encourages us to dance to doom and gloom.

JPEGMAFIA Shares New Music Video for “1539 N. Calvert”

Baltimore rapper/producer JPEGMAFIA has garnered much attention this year, and it is much deserved. His new album Veteran is the groundbreaking and forward thinking album Hip Hop needs right now. Today Peggy shared his new music video for the opening track off the album titled “1539 N. Calvert.” The video is a tribute to the “Bell Foundry,” a building in Baltimore that housed dozens of artists and hosted live shows. It was unfortunately shut down, but many DIY artists in the Baltimore scene hold their experiences near and dear to their hearts. You can watch the video for “1539 N. Calvert” below:

Street Sects Release New Single “Still Between Lovers”

Industrial duo “Street Sects” recently announced the release of their upcoming album The Kicking Mule, which drops October 26th. Following the album’s first single “In For a World of Hurt” the band have shared yet another track off the album titled “Still Between Lovers,” and it is visceral, abrasive, and emotional, everything we love about the band. Oklahoma trio “Skating Polly” released a fantastic album titled The Make It All Show earlier this year, a promising album that showed us that the band may very well be on their way to becoming a leading force in “Alternative Rock.” Today the band have shared a new music video for their track “Free Will At Ease.” You can watch the video below:

Detroit “Electronic” duo “ADULT.” are set to release their new album This Behavior tomorrow, and while we wait the band have given us another taste of the album with a new track off the album titled “Violent Shakes,” as well as a music video to accompany it. Portrayal of Guilt Announce New Album “Let Pain Be Your Guide”

“Portrayal of Guilt” are a promising new band from Austin, Texas, and their music is brutally infused with “Post-hardcore,” “Hardcore Punk,” and even “Black Metal.” What we’ve heard from the band so far has been dark and brooding, and they clearly aren’t afraid to incorporate different genres into the mix. The band have announced that they will release their debut full-length album Let Pain Be Your Guide on November 16th. You can pre-order the album below:

Ty Segall Announces New Covers Album “Fudge Sandwich”

Does Ty Segall ever sleep? How does he have the time to make this much music? Well, whatever magical powers the guy has to remain this prolific, i’m sure glad he has them, because he usually makes quality music. Following his collaboration album with “White Fence,” which followed his incredible album Freedom’s Goblin, Ty Segall will release yet another album, but this time it is a cover album titled Fudge Sandwich, and it will be released on October 26th. Thom Yorke Shares New Track From His Upcoming “Suspiria” Soundtrack

If you’re a Horror fan, then chances are you’re eagerly anticipating the new “Suspiria” remake, and if you’re a fan of Thom Yorke, then chances are you’re eagerly anticipating the film score he composed for the film. If you just so happen to be a fan of both, well, I don’t need to explain how much of a treat it is to see both worlds intertwine. Now, to satisfy our hunger with a little appetizer, Thom Yorke has shared a track off the upcoming soundtrack titled “Suspirium.” The soundtrack will be released on October 26th, and the film will be released on November 2nd.
