U.S. Girls Share New Music Video for “IOU”

U.S. Girls most definitely released one of the year’s best albums back in March, which feels like ages ago considering all that has happened following the release of Heavy Light. Like so many others, the band were set to embark on a lengthy tour but were forced to cancel due to our current pandemic, but at least we have their incredible music to listen to during these moments of isolation. I know i’ve listened to Heavy Light countless times while being locked in my home. Today the band have shared a new music video for one of the album’s standout tracks titled “IOU,” and it is sure to put a smile on your face as you watch numerous clips of the band in the studio. Poppy Announces Expanded Album “I Disagree (more)”

Today Poppy has announced the release of a new expanded edition of her recent album I Disagree titled I Disagree (more.) The album will drop August 14th via “Sumerian Records,” and will feature four bonus tracks “If It Bleeds,” “Bleep Bloop,” “Khaos x4,” and “Don’t Ask.” She has shared the track “Khaos x4,” and it continues the enticing combination of Metal and Pop that I Disagree offered. Jessie Ware Shares New Music Video for “What’s Your Pleasure?”

Jessie Ware released her fourth album What’s Your Pleasure? almost a month ago and I still listen to it daily. It’s utterly infectious from beginning to end and is quite possibly the best Pop album released this year by far. Jessie Ware has released music videos for the majority of the tracks off the album, and they are as addicting as the songs themselves. Mirroring the Disco grooviness of the tracks, each video is an incredible visual experience with much emphasis on the liberating nature of dancing. Her new music video for the title track “What’s Your Pleasure?” is no exception. It’s sexy, colorful, and features more and more dancing of course. Track Review: Greysha – Life Goes Fluently

We’re all guilty of dwelling in the past. Caught up in the could haves and should haves. Many of us reminisce over simpler or happier times, but though acknowledging the past is important, it’s also more important to focus on the present. To lay the groundwork for the future, and to strive to grow and improve. As simple as that concept may be, it’s also very complex, because us as humans have such a vast memory that it’s hard not to live in the past where we’ve invested so much time and emotions. There’s a reason why the old saying “life goes on” rings true, and on her new single “Life Goes Fluently,” up and coming artist “Greysha” captures this feeling in a way that isn’t exactly happy-go-lucky, but also isn’t exactly pessimistic or self-deprecating. Instead, she has created an immaculately produced guitar-driven ballad that finds her diving deep into her realizations and acknowledging that she herself is guilty of dwelling in the past. She’s letting us know that she’s right there with us, instead of waving her finger at us. It’s clear that young love is the main focus on this track. It’s youthful and can be naive, but that’s what makes it so charming. I’m very much looking forward to what she does next.

Track Review: Brioni – In My Garden

Brioni is an artist in every sense of the word. Hailing from London, her approach to music is unprecedented as she utilizes her chromesthesia, a type of synesthesia where sound involuntarily evokes the experience of seeing colors. Being an experienced music producer and painter, Brioni successfully intertwines both worlds in a way that is wholly original. How is this done you ask? Well, the colorful textures she perceives when hearing music are depicted by her in her paintings, and when she performs she performs solo on stage playing her paintings as an electronic drum all connected with a keyboard, controller, and laptop. It’s like her paintings have transcended the visual world and have developed it’s own auditory language. Her music is heavily Electronic with atmospheric sound textures and pulsating drum machines, and it’s all packaged in an infectious Pop style that is accessible yet artistic. Her new single “In My Garden” is no exception, and the theme behind the song is also unsurprisingly unique. After reading a book about the flowers language used to write secret messages, Brioni was inspired to use this in a song. With the two plants “Fox Gloves” which can translate to “lies,” and “Honesty” which translates to “honesty and realness,” she metaphorically guides us though her own garden which represents her life. She uses this to analyze herself. To walk her through her early insecurities and need to please people, only to realize that there was no need to be someone she’s not, and that alludes to the “Fox Glove” theme. As she comes to the realization that being her true self is a lot more liberating and that people will accept her for who she is, she plants her garden of honesty. The fact that she’s able to conceptualize something like that is truly remarkable, and that makes her an artist to keep your eye on. Brioni has also teamed up with an organization called “Treedom Trees.” 50% of her profit will go to them to help plant trees worldwide.

Pragnya Wakhlu Shares New Music Video for “Fallin'”

It’s been heartwarming seeing all of the music videos compiled of video submissions from people all over the world during lockdown. Today Pragnya Wakhlu has released her own music video featuring lovely video submissions and it is a lighthearted watch that will keep you going if you’re feeling down about this whole situation. About the video, Pragnya asked fans to send a video representation of what love means to them, and it’s interesting seeing different interpretations from people all over the world. BROCKHAMPTON Share New Songs “M.O.B.” and “Twisted”

Following the release of two brand new tracks “N.S.T.” and “Things Can’t Stay the Same,” both of which have unfortunately been removed, “BROCKHAMPTON” have returned with two more brand new tracks titled “M.O.B.” and “Twisted” featuring Ryan Beatty and Christian Alexander. Maryze Shares New Song “Muse”

This pandemic ain’t stopping Maryze from working. During this time she has written and performed a beautifully heartfelt song dedicated to her family and friends, performed for a live stream show, and has been interactive with her fans inviting everyone to send quarantine clips to be in her new music video for her new single “Muse.” The video will be out soon, but today “Muse” has been officially released, and it’s unsurprisingly astounding with smooth production provided by Super Plage and lush vocals sung entirely in French. E.P. Review: Bliss My Heart – Morningstar

Drawing inspiration from her three varying influences, Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, and Lana Del Rey, Paris born musician Jenna has crafted an E.P. under her “Bliss My Heart” project that’s incredibly focused and never emulates her influences. Morningstar is the name of the E.P. It’s her debut, which is hard to believe seeing as how these three tracks are sharply constructed and her knack for catchy songwriting is unmatched. It’s evident she’s been writing music for years, because no one sounds this good on a whim. This music can be labeled “Electropop,” but it’s got distinct qualities that can be traced back to 80’s “Synth-Pop,” 2000’s “Electroclash,” and even a little “Gothic Rock.” Especially on a track like “Cross You,” which sounds like it could be a “Clan of Xymox” song with its backing operatic vocals and moody guitar. Her vocals are immensely unique and have the potential to place her in the same boat as other unique and creative vocalists such as Miss Kittin or Karin Dreijer. To say she has potential is an understatement, because though her sound contains shades of the aforementioned genres, she’s already developed her distinct sound that separates herself from her peers, and we’re only talking about three songs! That’s undeniably impressive.
