CMON Share New Single “Blu-ray Saturday”

It’s not exactly Saturday, but for some, everyday feels like a Saturday being cooped up at home due to social distancing. What do we do with all of this free time to ourselves? Well, some of us like to relax and watch movies all day, and if we’re lucky enough, with our loved ones. Some of us are losing our damn minds just aching for human interaction. Well, whatever your case may be, just remember you’re not alone. Listening to CMON’s new single “Blu-ray Saturday” captures that lazy but content feeling of being in the zone watching movies and relaxing. It’s definitely some of the band’s most laid back work with “Psychedelic” guitars, a very minimal beat, and soothing vocals that will make you want to stop living so fast and just enjoy the moment. This track is good for all moods. You can listen to “Blu-ray Saturday” below:

Quick Track Review: Borito – My Kind of Love

Artist: Borito

Song: My Kind of Love

Genre: Indie Rock/Alternative Rock

Label: Self-released

Hailing from Tel Aviv, “Borito” are focused on rewinding things back a bit to Summer with their new single “My Kind of Love.” Well, at least the Summers we had before our current pandemic where we could enjoy the sunny days without fearing for our lives. “My Kind of Love” is a sugary and undeniably catchy ear worm with it’s jangly and dreamy guitars and sense of playful fun. It’s sure to make anyone’s Summertime playlist. The track will appear on the band’s upcoming debut album “What We Have Now” for which a release date has yet to be unveiled, but it’s looking like the album will drop soon at a time when we need a sunny escape the most.

Sapphire Blues Share New Single “Ourselves Forgotten”

Bristol’s own “Sapphire Blues” have released a new single titled “Ourselves Forgotten” via “Blitzcat Records.” The track further explores the unsparing Post-Punk-laden style the band have perfected with dark and impressively catchy anxiety-inducing instrumentation with observant lyrical content that is “influenced by small town boredom and an urge to get away from memories under the skin of every street. Losing yourself on the weekend, over and over again, hanging to your daydreams as a means of escape.” You can listen to “Ourselves Forgotten” below:

With an infinite supply of wit and a sardonic sense of humor, Manchester’s own “Furrowed Brow” have returned with yet another new track that is both undeniably catchy and deliciously cynical. “Pissing Superfluous” will have your foot tapping and head bobbing while you ask yourself “Are they insulting me?” You can listen to “Pissing Superfluous” below:

Broken Baby and Tummyache Share New Single “Ctrl-Alt-Delete”

L.A. based “Punk Rock” duo “Broken Baby” and musician Soren Bryce under her “Alternative Rock” project “Tummyache” have released their new collaborative single “Ctrl-Alt-Delete,” and it is an irresistible fusion of riotous “Post-Punk” and “Alternative Pop.” The collaboration was born out of a bond the two groups formed while on their Southwest tour pre-COVID. The track speaks on cancel culture in the absence of real justice in America. “Women and minorities shouldn’t have to use the court of public opinion to get fair treatment in this country, but until that happens we’ll have to rely on the crude instruments we have at our disposal,” says Amber Bollinger and Alex Dezen of “Broken Baby.” You can watch the music video for “Ctrl-Alt-Delete” below:

“METZ” are set to release their upcoming fourth album Atlas Vending on October 9th via “Sub Pop Records,” and today the band have shared the album’s second single “Hail Taxi,” which features that sludgy grunginess we’ve come to expect from the band, but also features the more melodic side of them that was revealed on their previous single “A Boat to Drown In.” About the track, the band have stated “It’s about looking back, coming to terms with who you were and who you’ve become.” The band have also shared a beautifully directed music video by A.F. Tropical Fuck Storm Share New Single “Legal Ghost”

IMG_E6919

It’s clear that “Tropical Fuck Storm” isn’t just a one-off project. The band haven’t slowed down since the release of their debut album A Laughing Death In Meatspace back in 2018. Releasing a follow-up titled Braindrops the following year, and now gearing to release their third album later this year, these oddballs are here to stay for awhile. Yesterday the band released their new single “Legal Ghost,” a chilling tune that will appear on their upcoming album along with their previously released single “Suburbiopia.” “Legal Ghost” was originally a cut from member Gareth Liddiard’s “Bong Odyssey” project. About the decision to rework this cut from 1998, Liddiard has stated “It felt like something we could do, and I mean, no one ever heard it. It’s not like we were revisiting “Stairway to Heaven” or something like that. TFS has always come back around to that “Bong Odyssey” thing. If you’ve heard the “Bong Odyssey” stuff, it’s pretty out there, it’s more out there than “The Drones.” So we’re back to being that weird again.” The track will officially be released on September 11th via “Flightless Records,” and will also feature a b-side which is a cover of “Talking Heads'” “Heaven.” You can listen to “Legal Ghost” below:
